The Role

  • An experienced Account Manager with a strong digital understanding and experience working with pharmaceutical clients is desirable but not essential.
  • Assist Client Experience Director with the planning, buying and administration of first-class media campaigns for a brand-new client win.
  • The role involves planning and implementing media bookings, researching media opportunities, liaising with clients, creative agencies and internal specialists, to devise, implement and report on the impact of media activity.

Communication

  • Skilled telephone communicator with both clients and suppliers alike.
  • Calmly fields client enquiries of all kinds, and prioritises verbal over written communication - e.g. would routinely follow up client email contact by phone to follow up on contact updates sent to clients in order to progress actions quicker.

Role Management

  • Attends client meetings where appropriate. These will either be by video call or in person when appropriate or necessary to do so.
  • Demonstrates a proactive approach to day-to-day account management.
  • Has sufficient confidence and ability to run a meeting without the presence of a Client Director.
  • Behaves professionally at all times with both colleagues and external stakeholders.

Commercial acumen

  • Is confident in negotiating rates with media suppliers, taking existing trading rates and regional factors into account.
  • Secures compensation when appropriate and is able to challenge and negotiate additional charges/ fees.

Leadership & Initiative

  • Assists execs and trainees with entry-level Advantage (booking system) tasks where required.
  • Assists in the development of junior colleagues' soft skills through learning recommendations such as suppliers, LinkedIn Learning, Space Academy etc. Looks for opportunities to proactively support senior management without waiting for guidance e.g. preparation for client meetings, briefing reports, liaising with client contacts on outstanding actions.

Strategic Excellence

  • Has knowledge of multiple media suppliers by channel, especially medical publishers. Knowledge of more sophisticated channel planning and strategy – i.e. broadcast, A/B testing - and has a sound understanding of interpreting campaign results.
  • Able to independently construct persuasive media plans/ appraisals - demonstrating integrated thinking and planning from start to finish.

  • Hours 9 - 5.30 with 1-hour lunch
