The Client

Our client is a global marketing and advertising agency, looking for an experienced Senior Social & Digital Strategist who will join the team and take the lead for delivering strategy for some of their biggest clients. They work with some of the worlds biggest brands delivering strategy and communications across earned, owned and paid channels - at a global and regional level. They deliver big brand thinking all the way through to sales activation activity.

The Role

The Senior Social & Digital Strategist will work closely with the Head of Strategy, Creative Strategist, Head of Data and Insight & Head of Technology to define and execute social and digital strategy and plans for our clients.

You will be the connective glue between the client, the various disciplines within the strategy team and, of course, form close ties with their account and creative teams. The thinking we are looking for is about digital alignment into real world experiences. The future will be dictated by how channels and the digital become stitched together whether social experiences on TikTok, Website and app utilisation and direct dealer contact. The true challenge lies in understanding the detail that impacts a much bigger ecosphere.

You will be comfortable with thinking globally but understanding how communications work across different regions. Key to everything is having a good understanding of culture, how brands shape it and what inspiration and learnings can be taken from their clients. 

Responsibilities

  • Delivering the social media strategy globally and regionally (in close collaboration with the social media managers)
  • Responsible for delivering digital strategy on an on-going basis and specifically around new product launches and campaigns
  • Working very closely with creative teams throughout the creative development process (they do not ‘love and leave’).TBC: this role may involve line managing the social media managers.
  • Supporting the Head of Strategy and Global Chief Operating Officer on new business opportunities.
  • Being a champion for ensuring the agency is aware of and thinking about the most relevant industry and cultural trends (regionally and globally) to feed into the work we deliver.
  • Helping upskill account management teams across the network on the basics of strategy so they can feel more empowered and confident to work through client business problems and opportunities strategically.

Skills Needed:

  • 4 – 5 years’ experience of working in a strategy role
  • Experience of leading an account and being the senior strategic stakeholder
  • Experience of managing individuals or a team – helping to nurture, grow and give responsibility to them
  • Detailed knowledge of social media platforms (including regional social media channels)
  • Detailed knowledge of digital channels
  • Detailed knowledge on leveraging data in positive campaign targeting
  • Deep knowledge of how earned, owned and paid channels can work in perfect harmony
  • Experience of working with external suppliers e.g. media planning / buying agencies, production houses
  • Experience in writing conceptual and adaptation creative briefs, across a range of projects
  • Proficiency of MS office (especially Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Experience of Mac operating system preferable
  • Naturally creative and be someone who can’t help but come up with ideas, insights and inspiration.
