Our client is looking for a commercially minded Commercial Legal Counsel to join their growing legal team.

This role is ideal for an ambitious lawyer with strong experience in commercial law, corporate law, contract negotiation, regulated industries, licensing, and in-house legal advisory work. The successful candidate will provide day-to-day legal support across a wide range of business areas, including commercial agreements, labour law, partnerships, international ventures, corporate finance, intellectual property, licensing, and M&A activity.

You will work closely with senior executives, management teams, internal stakeholders, and external legal counsel, providing accurate, practical, and timely legal advice across complex commercial and multi-jurisdictional matters.

Key Responsibilities

As the Commercial Legal Counsel, you will be responsible for:

  • Advising the group on day-to-day legal matters across labour law, partnerships, international ventures, corporate finance, commercial contracts, and related areas

  • Providing accurate and timely legal advice to executives on a variety of commercial legal topics

  • Taking the lead in negotiating a wide range of commercial agreements

  • Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating agreements including game supplier agreements, payment service provider agreements, licence agreements, NDAs, and marketing agreements

  • Advising the group on intellectual property and licensing matters

  • Acting as a liaison with external legal counsel on jurisdiction-specific matters

  • Supporting legal matters relating to litigation, enforcement, and licence applications

  • Contributing to legal training for the team and wider business stakeholders

  • Supporting the drafting and implementation of group policies and procedures

  • Assisting with M&A activity in collaboration with the management team

  • Ensuring legal advice is commercially practical, accurate, and aligned with business objectives

What We Are Looking For

The successful candidate will have:

  • A Law degree, ideally an LLB; an LLM would be considered an advantage

  • A legal qualification preferably from a UK university

  • Admission to the Bar in their state or country of origin

  • Ideally, a minimum of 4 years’ legal experience

  • Proven experience working as an in-house Legal Counsel

  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of corporate law and legal procedures

  • Strong experience advising on commercial legal matters

  • Experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial agreements

  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Excellent organisational skills

  • A proactive, hard-working, and commercially focused approach

Advantageous Skills

The following would be considered an advantage:

  • An LLM or further postgraduate legal qualification

  • Experience working in a regulated industry

  • iGaming, online gaming, betting, casino, or gambling industry experience

  • Licensing experience

  • Experience supporting multi-jurisdictional commercial matters

  • Experience supporting M&A transactions

  • Experience working with external counsel across multiple jurisdictions
