About the Role

Our client is looking for a commercially focused Country Manager – New Zealand to lead the growth and development of the New Zealand market.

This role is ideal for a marketing leader with strong experience in iGaming, B2C online gaming, brand development, acquisition marketing, and local market strategy. The successful candidate will take ownership of the New Zealand market, working closely with central teams across brand marketing, digital, affiliates, and CRM.

You will be responsible for adapting global strategy to the local market, ensuring campaigns resonate with New Zealand audiences, comply with local regulations, and deliver measurable commercial growth.

Key Responsibilities

As the Country Manager – New Zealand, you will be responsible for:

  • Taking ownership of the New Zealand market and driving local market growth

  • Developing strategic plans for brand-building and acquisition marketing activity

  • Managing customer acquisition media channels, including TV, radio, sponsorships, print, out-of-home, and PR

  • Overseeing digital marketing and performance-based marketing channels

  • Working with in-house teams and external agencies to deliver marketing activity

  • Developing and managing relationships with local third parties, including media agencies, media groups, marketing agencies, creative agencies, and production agencies

  • Leading agency selection and commercial negotiations

  • Managing the annual marketing plan, budgets, and performance targets

  • Acting as the local brand champion, including adapting global brand positioning, creative direction, and tone of voice

  • Creating bespoke local brand assets and marketing campaigns for the New Zealand market

  • Championing local advertising initiatives and player communication channels

  • Conducting pre- and post-campaign analysis to assess ROI, CPA, and optimisation opportunities

  • Reporting on campaign performance and identifying improvements for future activity

  • Ensuring all marketing and communication activity follows applicable gambling rules and regulations

What We Are Looking For

The successful candidate will have:

  • 5+ years’ experience in a similar marketing leadership role, either agency-side or client-side

  • Experience working in a high transactional volume industry

  • 3+ years’ experience in B2C online gaming in New Zealand

  • A proven track record of launching a new brand and achieving rapid business growth in New Zealand

  • Strong knowledge of the New Zealand advertising and media landscape

  • Experience building and maintaining relationships with specialist media agencies and media owners

  • Hands-on experience managing significant above-the-line marketing budgets

  • Experience owning campaigns from beginning to end, including briefing, forecasting, tracking, reporting, and performance analysis

  • Strong commercial understanding of campaign ROI, CPA, and acquisition performance

  • Experience in people management, including recruitment, training, and personal development

  • A proactive, hands-on, and commercially driven approach
