People & Performance Manager / HR Manager

Reporting to:                     Group People & Performance Director

Salary:                                 £35- £40K plus bonus and benefits.

The Role:

The People & Performance Manager will ensure that the vision, strategy and values of our client are delivered within the business through the successful running of the People & Performance function within their allocated businesses.  This will also involve the recruitment, development and retention of staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with the Group People & Performance director on the People & Performance strategy to ensure objectives are delivered upon in order to to achieve maximum organisational performance and efficiencies
  • Recruit high caliber candidates into the business via internal and external recruitment methods working alongside department managers for recruitment needs
  • Onboard new employees
  • Consult with leaders, managers and employees on all aspects of employee-related issues, including manager and employee issues, policies and procedures, misconduct, investigations, terminations, exit interview feedback, review of appealed terminations, reorganisations and claims
  • Comfortably facilitate training and coaching sessions to achieve maximum business impact
  • Ensure the company performance process is delivered to employees
  • Transfer employment legislation into practice when giving advice and updating company policies and procedures
  • Understand the requirements of third party renewals such as Healthcare, Pension, Critical Illness cover and working in conjunction with the Group People & Performance Director in tendering these contracts on an annual basis
  • Produce, monitor and interpret monthly/quarterly people & performance numbers including absence, turnover, recruitment, ethnic monitoring, age and disability and highlighting any areas of concern to the Group People & Performance DirectorWork alongside the finance department ensuring payroll data is aligned to budgetary requirements
  • Ensure that the People & Performance intranet section is up to date with relevant information and communication from the business
  • Travel for meetings with the respective group businesses you are associated with
  • Completion of any necessary administration to ensure the People & Performance function is efficient and up to date;

Skills and experience:

Essentials:

  • 3-5 years’ experience as a Human Resources professional
  • Experience in TUPE
  • Expertise from within the technology industry
  • Technical recruiting experience
  • Experience in DISC
  • Significant experience working in UK employment legislation environment
  • Ability to effectively consult and support multiple managers within the business
  • Strong leadership skills, agile to adjust to other people’s needs and achieve impact through others
  • Resilient and determined to ensure initiatives achieve their full benefit
  • Ability to build deep and business-relevant consulting / coaching skills in others
  • Excellent process management, planning and organisational skills
  • Personal stature and gravitas to be credible with top management and approachable to employees
  • Excellent relationship building and leadership skills at peer and top management levels
  • Strong analytical skills, with an ability to see the commercial implications of actual and planned activities, adding value to leadership decisions
  • Significant experience working in UK employment legislation environment
  • Fluent in English in writing and speaking

Desirable:

  • University degree in human resources
  • CIPD qualification
  • Experience in pension auto-enrolment
  • Experience in the online gaming space
  • European or other languages
